Why it feels different
The GEC-007 is a linear carriage, not a lever machine. It takes two body positions on the same carriage: shoulder-supported and seated.
Shoulder-supported is the squat everyone knows — upright torso, load down through the shoulders, quads doing the work to full depth. The seated position leans the torso forward, which shifts greater emphasis toward the glutes and hamstrings.
Both positions are squats: one pattern, loaded two ways, on one footprint. Plate-loaded, with the plates on the carriage itself.
