Why it feels different
On a conventional chest-supported T-bar row, contact with the pad can limit the final portion of the pull. The GEC-006 handles are shaped to travel past the pad line, so the pull continues after the bar reaches the pad.
That extra range is the core of this machine. It allows greater scapular retraction and a more complete contraction in the shortened position.
